Florida is one of the only places where a park can be on the ocean or bay and have boat ramps, fishing, and a beach.

There are also many traditional parks in Florida that serve as the focal point for towns like Winter Park, San Marco in Jacksonville, and Lake Eola Park in Orlando.

Sandsprit Park


Fishing piers, boat ramps, pavilions, and a playground are a few things you’ll find at Sandsprit Park in Stuart. Located at the entrance to Manatee Pocket Sandsprit Park is great place to launch your boat, fish, or have a party in one of the many pavilions.

Lake Ella and Fred Drake Park


Lake Ella and Fred Drake Park Area is located in north central Tallahassee near U.S. 319 (Thomasville Road) and U.S. 27 (North Monroe Street).  Lake Ella is a small lake with fountains surrounded by a walking trail and picnic pavilions.  A variety of shops, community centers and restaurants are located within easy walking distance of the lake.

Indian River Side Park

A family friendly park on the shores of the Indian River in Jensen Beach, the Indian River Side Park is a great place to have a picnic, take a walk, fish or cool off in the interactive water fountain.

Rio Skate Park at Langford Park

In Jensen Beach, this great skate park dips down with banks, walls and two cement bowls. The Rio Jensen Skate Park has a beginner bowl with a three foot drop and three foot ledge and a more advanced bowl with corners and boxes, hand rail, six foot drop and ledges and banks.  The nice thing about this park is that it is fenced and open only when park staff is on duty.

Lake Eola


In the center of downtown Orlando Lake Eola is an oasis. On the east side of the lake is Lake Eola Park with a playground, open space for walking a dog, and swans and other birds. 

On the west side (nearest to downtown) is the Walt Disney Amphitheater where you can see a concert or watch a play.

Hanna Park


Hanna Park in Jacksonville Florida is enormous and has beaches, a fresh water lake, a water playground with fountains, kayaking, fishing, and campsites. This 450 acre park is 17 miles east of Jacksonville and is also known for excellent surfing.

Marathon Community Park


Sports, picnics, playground, and performances at the amphitheater makes Marathon Community Park a great place to have fun.  Monroe County Parks and Recreation oversees the team sports and events year round at the Marathon Community Park. 

Founders Park


A huge public park in the center of Islamorada, Founders Park has a marina, boat ramps, beach, baseball fields, olympic pool, and a skate park. On the Bayside in Islamorada Founders Park is famous for sunsets and even has a dog park.

Jock Leighton Park

Palm City

Jock Leighton Park in Palm City has fields for soccer, football, and lacrosse. There is also a full skate park, playground, and several pavillions. The park is located at 3755 SW Mapp Road in Palm City.
