Examples of big fishing tournaments in Florida include the Mayors Cup in Miami every January and the World Sailfish Championship in Key West in April, which has a $1 million dollar purse.

South Florida’s largest tournament, The Pompano Beach Saltwater Circuit, a 3-leg series takes place May - August 2015. Anglers throughout the nation compete for the Showdown Crown.  Boats can have as many anglers as they want. The fee is a boat registration only.
