The annual Trawler Fest in Ft Lauderdale Florida takes places February 2 - 4, 2012 at the Bahia Mar Beach Resort and Yachting Center. Trawler Fest Boat Show is organized by PassageMaker magazine with year round events in Anacortes, Annapolis, Baltimore, San Diego, and Seattle.

The Trawler Fest University kicks off the event with courses on topics such as diesel engine troubleshooting, maintaining your boat’s systems, couples cruising, and women only navigation. Last year’s Trawler Fest event took place after the University and offered additional topics in seminars, roundtable discussions, and afternoon demonstrations.
The Ft Lauderdale Trawler Fest had 2,000 plus in attendance with 90 land and in-water exhibitors on display. Cruisers checked out a wide variety of boats open for viewing and browsed an expansive selection of products and services. Attendees and exhibitors had fun at the end of day with with music, cocktails, and dinner and other activities. An award was given the “PassageMaker People’s Choice Award” to Serenity, a Krogen 48 AE, the latest design from Kadey-Krogen Yachts owned by Tom and Bunnie Eccleston of Huntington, New York.
