Hemingway Days in Key West is held at Sloppy Joes and is a look alike contest, as well as many other activities
The Pulitzer Prize winning author, Ernest Hemingway, lived in Key West in the 1930’s at 907 Whitehead Street. His home is now a registered National Historic Landmark and still has his writing studio where he spent hours and hours writing. His home has the first pool every built in Key West. He also loved the Keys lifestyle by visting Sloppy Joe’s on a regular basis and deep sea fishing with family and friends.
You’ll see amazing look a-likes to Ernest Hemingway during the festival with stocky white-bearded men resembling him. There will be readings and book signings by nationally acclaimed authors, a museum exhibit of rare Hemingway memorabilia, a fun and crazy “Running of the Bulls” and a 3-day marlin fishing tournament.
