The 5th Annual Choctawhatchee Estuary Family Festival is fun and educational on topics about the coastal environment, local critters, ground water, and red tides.  It is hosted by the Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks and the Mattie M. Kelly Cultural and Environmental Institute of Northwest Florida State College.  There is also an amateur photo contest.

To drive to the Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park in Niceville:

From the West:
Take Interstate 10 East to Highway 85 South until you reach Highway 20. Go East on Highway 20 and the park is approximately 5 miles on the left.

From the East:
Take Interstate 10 West to Highway 331 South until you reach Highway 20. Go West on Highway 20 approximately 25 miles until you see signs for park on right.
