The Beautiful Lakes of Winter Park, FL
The Boat Tour of Winter Park takes you through Lake Osceola (where the tour starts), Lake Virginia (home of Rollins College), and Lake Maitland. The lakes are connected by narrow canals that the pontoon boats barely squeeze through. In fact the boats have metal bumpers because they do bump a little. As you exit one lake and enter a canal it is covered in trees and crosses under a low bridge.

You will see a big variety of trees and plants on the boat tour including Cypress Trees, resurrection fern, Egyptian papyrus, bamboo, and banana trees complete with bananas. Those are just a few of the plants you will see. There is also a good chance you will see an alligator.
Kraft Azalea Gardens
As the boat takes you by Kraft Azalea Gardens on Lake Maitland you will see towering trees and a monument. But to really experience this park you should drive over park and take a walk. It is located on Alabama Drive off Palmer Avenue. There is very limited parking so carpool if you have a group. Also keep in mind that this is a residential area so be courteous - keep it calm and quiet.

In Kraft Azalea Gardens there are thousands of azaleas and tropical shrubs. Even on a hot day it feels cool in the park. The Azaleas bloom January through March.
The Alabama
As you drive down Alabama Drive you will see a massive hotel looking building. It is the Alabama. The Alabama was originally a Hotel, had many famous owners, and today is luxury condos on an amazing setting with a great view.
Those are just a few of the things you will see on the Scenic Boat tour in Winter Park FL. If you are in Central Florida it is a great way to spend an hour.
