Most of the streets in Winter Park Florida are narrow and many of them are red brick that is 100 years old so please drive slowly, take your time and enjoy.

Driving Tour of Winter Park Homes

Many of these impressive homes can be seen by driving through Winter Park. Here is a short driving tour that will show you homes, lakes, and a great park.

1. Start at Park Avenue and Fairbanks (Rollins College) and head north down Park Ave.

2. Take Park Ave to Morse Blvd and make a right on Morse.

3. Take Morse Blvd just few blocks to Interlachen Ave and make a left.
If you continue down Morse you will dead end into Lake Osceola where you can get on the Scenic Boat Tour.

4. Take Interlachen North along Lake Osceola - bear right at the fork and you will end up on Georgia Ave.

5. Go left on Georgia (the only way you can go) towards Palmer.

6. Go right on Palmer for a few blocks. You pass over a small bridge (the connector to Lake Maitland is below you) - slow down and prepare to turn left.

7. Turn Left on Alabama and slowly follow it around. Stop at Kraft Azalea Gardens on your left just around the first curve.

Kraft Azalea Gardens sits right on Lake Maitland. The trees are incredibly tall and there are many azaleas. This park is a great place to take a walk or sit and look at the lake. Weddings are allowed but there are restrictions so contact the City of Winter Park.

Another way to see many of the mansions in Winter Park is to take the Scenic Boat Tour. From the water you get a much better view of many of the homes and the guides give you all kinds of interesting information about who built the homes and who lives in them now including some celebrities.

Isle of Sicily, Winter Park FL

The Isle of Sicily is an Island with about 10 homes. It juts out into Lake Maitland so you will see it from the Boat Tour, which is much better than driving down the narrow streets.

Continuing the Driving Tour
If you want to drive a little more then we will pick up from Alabama Drive and head over to the Italian named streets.

Continue on Alabama Drive to Via Tuscany and make a left.

As you travel down Via Tuscany you can turn right on any of the first 4 streets including Via Salerno, Via Capri, Woodmere Drive, or Via Lugano.

Another option is continue down Via Tuscany to Via Lugano or Via Lombardy and turn left. That will put in you the heart of some of the nicest homes in Winter Park.

The areas described above are mostly expensive homes but there are affordable homes in Winter Park Florida. There are affordable condos, town homes, and houses all around Winter Park that benefit from the great schools, shopping, job market created by the draw of Winter Park and Central Florida.

Biking Winter Park

Another way to enjoy Winter Park Florida is by bicycle. All of the driving instructions can be safely done on a bicycle and in addition to getting some exercise you will probably see more, enjoy!
