USF has 13 colleges ranging from Art and Sciences and Business to Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, and Marine Science. Admission standards for USF are considered rigorous, although not as tough as the University of Florida (UF), or Florida State University (FSU). High School students can apply as early as August of their Senior year.
USF Admissions
Freshman applying to the University of South Florida are only considered for Summer and Fall Terms. Deadlines to apply are January 2 for priority scholarship consideration, March 1 - application deadline, April15 - final application deadline. The cost to apply to USF is $30 and the following must be submitted:

Transfer Students
Students transfer to USF from community colleges, private colleges, and other state colleges. One of the key factors considered for transfer students is their course completion ratio. Lower level applicants that did not complete at least 67% of their courses will be denied. And upper level applicants (60 credits of more) that did not complete at least 60% of their courses will be denied.

Research: USF is one of only three Florida Public Universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the advancement of Teaching in the top tier of research activities.
Accreditation:The University of South Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Costs:The cost of attending USF for two semesters (a year) is approximately $20,590 for Florida Residents, and $29,780 for out of state residents. This includes Tuition, Housing and Meals, Books and Supplies, and Other Expenses.
For Residents $5,800 of the costs are tuition, for Non Residents $14,990 is Tuition.
