The Miami Seaquarium, Key Biscayne FL
The Miami Seaquarium is the longest operating oceanarium in the United States and was one of the first aquariums with marine research and water based entertainment. Today you can see Dolphin, Killer Whales, and much more. The park opened in 1955 and has been the site of many TV Shows including the series Flipper.
The Miami Seaquarium is located on Key Biscayne at 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. To contact the Seaquarium call 305-361-5705.
Admission is $29.95 for adults and $22.95 for children ages 3 to 9.
Swim with the Dolphins
Today the Seaquarium offers a comprehensive hands on Dolphin interaction program, in the new Dolphin Harbor where you can see, touch and learn all about Dolphins. If you want to swim with the Dolphins the fee is $139 for an adult and $99 for children ages 5 to 9.
The minimum age to swim with the Dolphin is 5 years old and children under 9 must be accompanied by a parent or older sibling participating in the encounter.
The sea lion show is very funny and the sea lions put on a great show.
No seaquarium is complete without a Killer Whale Show and the Miami Seaquarium has Lolita the Killer Whale.
In addition to the Dolphin Encounter you can see a great Dolphin show. The Dolphins fly out of the water with jumps, spins, tail walks, and flips.
The Miami Seaquarium is a smaller theme park that you can see in 3 hours or spend the entire day. To get to the Seaquarium you will drive out on Key Biscayne and pass beaches where you can wind surf, jet ski, or just hang out on the beach. Close by is Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, one of the best beaches in Florida.
