Long Key State Park has a variety of activities available including camping on the beach, canoing and kayaking. There are also two nature trails and pavilions and showers.
Canoing and Kayaking
The park includes a shallow lagoon where you can take a slow and peaceful paddle. The park offers canoe rentals or you can bring your own kayak or canoe.
Camping
Long Key State Park includes a 60 campsites that are directly on the ocean. The camping area is protected and only registered campers are allowed in. You will find a mixture of tents and a variety of RVs and each campsite has a picnic table, grill, water and electricity. In the middle of the camping area there are bathrooms and hot showers.

Pets
The campground allows pets but you must follow specific rules always keeping your pet under control. You have to clean up after your pet and observe the quiet hours between 11 pm and 8 am.
Beach
The beach at Long Key State Park is narrow - it is not a wide sandy beach. But if you want to swim or snorkel there are places where you can walk right into the water.
Wildlife
The park is full of wild life. in addition to birds you can see crabs, including large horseshoe crabs. It is also common to see a variety of sea beans from trees on the beach. These beans drift from far away places including west Africa.

The Golden Orb Trail in Long Key Start Park
The Golden Orb Trail is a one hour hike takes you past a variety of native Florida plants including Mangroves and ends up along a very private beach.
There is an observation tower that is about 20 feet high and puts you over the mangroves. It’s a great place to see birds.
