Dudley Farm State Park, Newberry

The Dudley Farm is a great way to spend the day outdoors in Newberry (just outside Gainesville). The farm was an authentic working farm from about 1880 to 1930 where syrup is still produced from sugar cane.

The Dudley Farm is a 325 acre park with a working sugar cane shack, animals including mules, draft horses, and plymouth barred rock chickens.

The farm features seasonal cane grindings, corn shuckings, and heritage varieties of livestock and plants. Deer, wild turkeys, gopher tortoises, and bluebirds are still seen in the fields. The park has a visitor center, picnic area, and nature trail.
