Originally settled in 1880 Stuart is a mixture of historic buildings and new buildings. The main roads in downtown Stuart are SW Flagler Ave and SW Osceola St.
To get to Downtown Stuart you take US1 (AKA Federal Highway) to Colorado Ave and go east on Colorado Ave. Colorado Ave ends at the famous confusion corner - a round about. Going straight or left at the round about will take you into downtown Stuart.

A few of the long standing and quality restaurants include the Riverwalk Cafe, Lunas Pizza, Osceola Street Cafe, and the Flagler Grill. The Ashley is a restaurant bar that has a live band on many weekends. There are other restaurants including a sports bar, a casual seafood restaurant, and Kilwins Ice cream.
Events and Entertainment
Downtown Stuart is the site of the Lyric Theater and many events. The Lyric Theater seats 500 and has events including classical theater and music including rock, country, classical, and jazz. There are also dance recitals, school programs, and charity events.

Dancing in the Streets
Every August the Dancing in the Streets Festival takes place in Downtown Stuart. It is a music festival with several bands including rock, jazz, Latin, country, blues and reggae music.
There is also a variety of food, vendors, and a handful of rides for the kids.
Dancing in the Streets takes over the entire downtown area and Flagler Park (under the Roosevelt Bridge).
City Hall the Courthouse
The City of Stuart City Hall is in the heart of downtown and the Martin County courthouse is just a few blocks away.
