World Golf Championship
The 2009 World Golf Championship takes place the week of March 09, 2009. The first round of competition is on Thursday March 12 and the final round is on Sunday March 15, 2009.
Doral has a long and interesting history. Doris and Alfred Kaskel created the golf resort in 1959. The name Doral is a combination of their names. The first PGA held in Florida was the Doral Open Invitational in 1962.
Beyond golf, Doral is a resort with a tennis center, a water park with a 125 foot waterslide, a fitness center, adults only pool, and Camp Doral for children ages 5 to 12.

The Blue Monster
The Blue Monster is the championship course where the World Golf Championship is played. The longest course at Doral at 7,228 yards was originally designed by Dick Wilson and updated many times over the last 20 years by Raymond Floyd and Jim Mclean.
The Great White
The Great White is named in honor of it’s designer, Greg Norman. It’s 6,679 yards boasts in-play water on 14 of its 18 holes leading to very challenging conditions. The course’s main design feature is crushed coquina shells along with hundreds of palm trees, making the Great White not only very challenging but very beautiful as well.
The Gold Course
The Gold Course was recently redesigned by Raymond Floyd to follow a more traditional Florida style golf course. Mr. Floyd incorporated gently contoured greens, strategic bunkers and water surrounding 16 holes with a par 4 island green on the 18th hole for a spectacular finish.
The Red Course
The Red Course is one of the shortest courses at Doral measuring at 6,058 yards. The Red Course will force golfers to play more strategically and favors shot placement vs. the long ball. The Red course has water on 14 holes making accuracy and distance control imperative to scoring.
The Silver Course
The Silver Course will be ready to play in 2009 with an exciting new design from golf legend Jim McLean. Every green and hole on the course is being remodeled to improve playability and provide a greater challenge for players.
