Hours of Operation - open 365 days a year from 8 am until sundown. The campground is open every day of the year.
Curry Hammock Campground
Camping - located right on the Atlantic Ocean, Curry Hammock State Park gets an ocean breeze and is open year round for campers. The camping area is secured so only registered campers can access the camp ground.
Campsites
There are 28 campsites that fill up fast on the weekends. You can reserve campsites up to 11 months in advance for RV or tent camping.
Hot Showers for Campers
There is a restroom area just for campers with hot showers. The daytime visitors have access to the beach showers with cold water.

Curry Hammock Activities
Amenities - there are shaded pavilions with picnic tables and grills. Playground, restrooms, and showers are also available.
Bird Watchers - you’ll see plenty of white crowned pigeons enjoying the poisonwood berries during summer months. The park also has herons, egrets, ibis and raptors that come around during migration periods.
Tracking HawksEvery September HawkWatch International comes to Curry Hammock State Park as part of the Florida Keys Raptor Migration Project. Over 25,000 Raptors are observed migrating including Peregrine Falcons, Short-tailed Hawks, and Swinsons Hawks, and others.
Fishing - you can fish within the state park. On the beach there are Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, and many other fish species. A fishing license is not required when fishing from the beach, or bridges. If you fish from a boat you will need a Florida Fishing License.

Kayaking at Curry Hammock
Kayak Rentals - you can rent kayaks or canoes from the park ranger at Curry Hammock State Park. The shallow beautiful waters surrounding Curry Hammock can easily be enjoyed by kayak.
Mangrove TunnelThe kayak trail in Curry Hammock State Parks includes a mangrove tunnel where you can observe a wide variety of wildlife.
Snorkeling - the water is shallow and covered with seagrass. You can snorkel in the area and see lots of fish. Right off shore, dolphins and manatees have been seen feeding in the area. Other marine animals you may see include Tarpon and Spotted Rays.
Pets at Curry Hammock
Pets - pets are not allowed on the beach or in the swimming areas. They are allowed in the camping areas overnight. Pets must be on a leash at all times.
Curry Hammock State Park is an oceanside campground in the Florida Keys in Monroe County.

The Kayaking is excellent at this park. We especially enjoyed the mangrove tunnel.
