Central Florida Community College in Ocala
Education Programs Focused on Ocala and Florida Opportunities
Like many community colleges CFCC focuses its educational programs on career areas that are growing and unique to the Florida economy. The Equine Studies program focuses on the running of horse farms, which is a big part of the economy in Ocala.
Another program focuses on landscaping and horticulture and that program works in conjunction with the Agribusiness Management program, which offers a Golf Specialization focus. Since Florida has more than 1,250 Golf Courses, more than any other state the program makes perfect sense.
Equine Program
The Equine program includes a wide variety of courses ranging from horse handling and safety and equine medicine to business management and marketing.
Landscape and Horticulture Technology
Farming is big part of the Ocala and of Marion County, which includes more than 1 million acres of farmland that produces corn, hay, wheat, peanuts, watermelons, and soybeans. The area also has a thriving honey industry.
