Beaches of Jensen Beach

Jensen Beach offers gorgeous wide open beaches on Hutchinson Island off of NE Ocean Boulevard. Jensen Sea Turtle Beach is the main beach and the only guarded beach.  The smaller beaches are great for quiet walks on the beach, flying a kite, fishing and hanging out without the crowds.

Sea Turtles on Jensen Beach

The beaches in Jensen Beach run along Hutchinson Island on both the Atlantic Ocean side and Indian River Lagoon side.  The ocean side beaches are also prime sea turtle nesting sites. During sea turtle nesting season, late April through early September, the beaches are dotted with sea turtle nests, marked and tagged by state biologists.  Loggerhead, leatherback turtles and green sea turtles regularly nest on Martin County beaches. Do not disturb the nests.  If you come back early in the morning approximately 60 days after a nest was made, you might see the hatchlings making their way to the water.
