Located in central north Florida, Marion County has beautiful rolling hills with expansive horse farms. The county has a population of about 315,000 and The biggest city is Ocala.

Marion County is the fifth largest county in Florida in land area. The Ocala National Forest is a massive 383,573 acres and 75 percent of it is in eastern Marion County. The county is rich with artesian springs such as Silver Springs, Alexander Springs, and Juniper Springs.

Known as horse country.  Marion County has over 1200 horse farms and approximately 600 Thoroughbred farms.

Central Florida Community College

CFCC is a fully accredited two-year college that was originally established in 1957.  There are several campuses that serve the counties of Marion, Citrus, and Levy.

The Ocala Campus is located on State Road 200, west of downtown Ocala and east of Interstate Highway 75. There are also campuses in Chiefland, Lecanto, and West Ocala.

Ocala Hospitals

Although Ocala is located only 30-40 miles south of Gainesville, Fl, home of Shands Health Care, there are still two very good hospitals in Ocala as well as a thriving medical community.
