Jacksonville

Jacksonville is the largest city in land mass on the continental United States and is very diverse.  The neighborhoods can be rural with big acreage and horses or more metropolitan closer to downtown with quaint shops and restaurants.  The NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, make their home here and the annual Players Championship pro golf tournament is held right south of Jacksonville.

During the holidays there are several events in Jacksonville such as the Gator Bowl Parade, a New Years Even Party and Fireworks Spectacular at Jacksonville Landing, and Milk and Cookies with Santa at the Jacksonville Zoo.

Jacksonville offers multiple outdoor activities especially with its beaches and St Johns River.  It’s a surfing, fishing, and boating paradise.  Jacksonville has the largest number of parks for an urban area with 337 park locations to manage. The area experiences mild winters with the average high in January at 66 degrees. 

At night, there many be a few freezes during the winter. The summers are hot and humid with highs in the 90’s and lots of afternoon thunderstorms.
