Ocala Outdoor Adventure Camp

An action packed week long camp on a 57 acre peninsula on Lake Eaton in the Ocala National Forest in Marion County Florida. This summer program teaches campers the necessary skills to become better sportsmen and women in regards to firearm safety and caring of wildlife. The outdoor adventures include fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, archery, outdoor survival skills, gun safety, hunter safety, and shooting sports.

Camp Type: Sleepaway Camp

Owned and operated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC), the facilities are rustic, comfortable air-conditioned cabins and dining hall in the Ocala National Forest.

Age Range: 
Ages 9 to 15 years olds (boys and girls.)

Camp Dates: 
Camps are one week at a time (Sunday through Friday).  There are 6 weeks available:

Week 1: June 17 – June 22
Week 2: June 24 – Jun2 29
Week 3: July 8 – July 13
Week 4: July 15 – July 20
Week 5: July 22 – July 27
Week 6: July 29 - August 3

2012 Pricing:  $295 per child per week includes all meals, lodging, equipment, and instructional materials.

Camp Staff:  FWC hires and trains about 35 summer camp staff, along with the resident camp director and other full time FWC employees. All staff must go through an interview process, background checks, and are certififed in CPR and First Aid.
