Mote Marine Ecology of the Florida Keys

The Mote Marine Lab in Sarasota organizes this week long sleep away camp by setting up base camp at the Mote’s Tropical Research Laboratory on Summerland Key in the Florida Keys.  Campers will snorkel or scuba on Looe Key, Sombrero Reef, John Pennekamp State Park, as well as an all-day trip to Dry Tortugas National Park.


Camp Type: Sleepaway Camp

The summer campers will enjoy water sports, learn about marine science, visit tide pools, take a fishing trip, go kayaking, and visit the Dolphin Research Center.

Age Range:Grades7-8, 9 - 12.

Camp Dates: Discovering the Florida Keys (grades 7 - 8) Mote sleep away camp is from Monday morning to Friday evening, and is offered the weeks of June 25 and July 9.

2012 Pricing: Discovering the Florida Keys Mote summer camp costs $955 (member) and $1,005 (non members) and includes round trip ground transportation from Sarasota, field trip transportation in the Keys, lodging, food, and snorkel gear.

Marine Ecology of the Florida Keys- Grades 9 - 12 Mote sleep away camp is from Monday morning to Friday evening, and if offered the weeks of June 18, July 2, and July 16. 
Cost of 2012 camp : Snorkel $955 (member), $1,005 (non-member).  SCUBA $1,055 (member),  $1,105 (non-member).  Fees include transportation from Sarasota, field trip trip transportation in the Keys, lodging, food, and SCUBA/ snorkel gear.
